Glossary Index (AIPROD)

This index provides quick access to key glossary terms relevant to AIPROD.
It complements the central Reference Glossary by highlighting terms most frequently used in AI Product descriptions.

Core Product Concepts

  • AI Asset → A raw or ungoverned AI element (e.g., model, dataset) that lacks full product characteristics.
  • AI Product → An AI-driven entity that satisfies the true product characteristics, including self-description, governance, and discoverability.
  • Capability Type → Classification of AI Products (predictive, generative, agentic, symbolic, etc.).
  • Lifecycle Stage → Declared maturity level (experimental, beta, production, deprecated, retired).

Governance & Risk

  • Risk Classification → Minimal, Limited, High, or Unacceptable risk categories under AI regulations.
  • Prohibited Uses → Declared contexts where a product must not be deployed.
  • Governance Metadata → Machine-readable policy markers that enable compliance enforcement.
  • Audit Evidence → Logs, fairness reports, or compliance artifacts tied to product governance.

Trust & Transparency

  • Explainability → Mechanisms that make outputs understandable to humans.
  • Transparency → Declarations about training data, model architecture, and limitations.
  • Observability Signals → Input traces, rationales, fairness dashboards, or uncertainty estimates.
  • Provenance → Origin of the product, including source models and training datasets.
  • Lineage → Dependencies and version history across AI and Data Products.

Economic & Operational

  • Economic Model → Declared framework for pricing, resource usage, and value exchange.
  • Discoverability → The ability to be found via trustworthy cataloging mechanisms.
  • Interoperability → Adherence to open standards for APIs, metadata, and data formats.
  • Composability → Ability to integrate with other AI Products or Data Products into workflows.
  • Extension Schema → Mechanisms for schema evolution, plug-ins, or domain-specific adaptations.

Usage

  • For the full glossary (cross-cutting across BPS, AIPDS, and AIPROD), see Reference Glossary.
  • This index surfaces AIPROD-specific terms for faster navigation during specification work.

Principle: A shared vocabulary reduces ambiguity — a glossary is governance in language form.
